WELCOME TO VILLA CALA BASSA

Our stunning 5-bedroom villa is situated a short drive from the beautiful Cala Bassa beach, in the south-west region of Ibiza. Blending rustic Balinese style with contemporary, modernist styling, the villa is fully equipped for hosting families and friends.

The villa is well placed to watch Ibiza’s famous sunsets with views out across the countryside from the balconies. Beyond the house, some of the best beaches in Ibiza are within easy reach as well as coastal villages, restaurants, bars, supermarkets and Ibiza airport is just 20 minutes drive away.

THE LIVING SPACE

The heart of the villa is the outside dining area, bar and kitchen. Perfect for long, lazy lunches, barbecues or dining alfresco under the stars. Alongside the dining area, the 10x5 metre pool is surrounded by decking and sun-loungers. A moroccan style pool house offers an escape from the sun and a quiet place to relax on Chesterfield sofas to the calming noise of the fountain.

Inside the house, the wood burning fireplace warms the lounge and dining area, with large sofas and floor to ceiling windows that open onto the outside dining area and pool terrace. The large but minimalist kitchen is well equipped with premium appliances, a breakfast bar and an American style fridge / freezer. For colder nights, there is an internal dining area that seats 10-12 people.

WINTER IN IBIZA

Wondering what happens in Ibiza once the summer holidays are over? Ibiza is a fantastic place for families and friends to visit outside of the normal summer holiday months as the weather is vastly better than in Northern Europe.  Ibiza enjoys an average of 300 days of sunshine a year and only 46 days of rain.

Even in December and January there are on average 5 hours of sunshine a day and the average rainfall in the winter months isn’t vastly different to that experienced in May and September. Cold days are rare and the temperature never drops below freezing. It really is the perfect time to discover the ‘other’ side of Ibiza that is often overlooked in the heat, crowds and hedonism of the summer.

WINTER LIFE

The villa is perfectly set up for cosy life outside the summer season, with heaters in every room, abundant blankets plus a large warming wood burning stove in the lounge. This year will also see the introduction of a wood fired oven for making homemade pizzas and baking.

ACCESSIBILE

ALL YEAR

There are very reasonably priced flights direct to and from London City everyday apart from Tuesday. Flights also continue to most major European cities. Travelling via Madrid or  Barcelona is even cheaper from all major European cities. Hire car is exceedingly cheap in winter, around €5 a day.

OFF SEASOn events

Throughout the off-season, there are regular festivals plus large parties all around the island at Halloween and New Year in particular. Local festivals celebrate the Patron Saints of each village on various weekends around the year.

Early May sees the whole of Ibiza Town turn medieval during a huge, weekend-long festival. There are colourful weekly artisanal and hippy markets, historic tours, galleries and museums. Beaches are empty and sunsets are exclusive VIP events!

EXPLORING IBIZA

The countryside comes alive outside summer when the temperature allows for more outdoor activities. There are endless hikes and cycle rides (guided or by map) for all abilities which allow you to discover the stunning coastal and inland scenery the island boasts.

Trails towards the beautiful west coast beaches are less then 5 minutes walk from the villa and in no time you can be surrounded by nature and nothing else. Or enjoy these views on the back of a horse from a variety of equestrian centres.

OFF SEASON ACTIVITIES

There are yoga and fitness classes, tennis, watersports like kayaking and paddleboarding, plus regular boats to Formentera to explore Ibiza’s untouched sister isle.

Flamingoes grace the island and in spring, almond blossom turns the countryside pink and white. A huge number of excellent and very well priced restaurants remain open as do bars and all supermarkets.

WHAT OUR GUESTS THINK

We had an amazing stay at Matt’s villa. He has thought of everything from the Nutribullet and coffee maker to the outdoor kitchen and fridge! I think our week in Ibiza was one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had, the guests staying with us said the same. The beds were super comfortable and massive, the kitchen is very well equipped the pool is large for a private pool, in a very private, enclosed setting. All the furnishings are well thought out - Matt clearly has an eye for design! We could quite happily have never left the villa, but if you want to go out it’s a 10 minute walk to the nearest beach which has some lovely restaurants, and 10 minute walk to a very well stocked food shop. The area itself is one of the best in Ibiza - some lovely authentic restaurants and stunning scenery. Would highly recommend the villa, we will be back soon. Thanks for a great stay!
